TRADE SECRETS/NON-COMPETES

McLaughlin and McNally represents some high technology companies who have a continuing—and increasing—need to protect company secrets and other confidential information. Today's increasing competitive environment, shortage of skilled technical personnel, and much job hopping from employer to employer requires good counseling and enforceable documents. Attorney Richard McLaughlin usually works on the business law end of intellectual property matters, particularly in the negotiation and drafting of relevant intellectual property documents. This would logically include trade secret protection agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure documents, and certainly, non-competition covenants. McLaughlin has negotiated and drafted these agreements and has litigated them in various state and federal courts. He has represented companies in writing and enforcing the agreements and employees who contest the application of such agreements. He has also spoken to business groups on the subjects of trade secrets and non-competitive agreements.
